3 to Receive Duke’s Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship

Award recognize academic, personal achievements of children or grandchildren of Duke alumni

Three incoming first-year students have been awarded the Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship to pursue their undergraduate studies at Duke University.

The scholarship was established by the Duke Alumni Association to recognize the academic and personal achievements of children or grandchildren of Duke alumni.

The award covers the full cost of tuition, room, board and mandatory fees for four years of undergraduate education. In addition, Alumni Scholars have access to generous funding for domestic and international experiences, including opportunities for independent research both in the summer and during the academic year. The full value of each scholarship is estimated to be $315,000 over four years.

The Class of 2025 recipients are:

  • Chioma “Joy” Buchi-Ahiabuike of Gadsden, Alabama, a graduate of  Alabama School of Mathematics and Science
  • Eugene Cho of Vienna, Virginia, a graduate of George C. Marshall High School
  • Felix Jones of Chicago, Illinois, a graduate of  Lane Tech College Prep High School
