Said@Duke: Professor Mel Watkins on Black Comedy

Mel Watkins, a professor of humanities at Colgate University, spoke this week as part of the fall course,  AAAS 331: Dick Gregory and the History of Black Comedy. The course, taught by professor Mark Anthony Neal, the James B. Duke Professor of African & African American Studies at Duke, has featured a number of special guests and screenings of rare black comedy films. The course is taught with the support of Dr. Christian C. Gregory, executor of the Estate of Dick Gregory and the Estate of Jenny Lillian Semans Koortbojian.
