Duke University religion professor Mark Goodacre will hold an online “Office Hours” conversation at noon Friday, Sept. 18, on the Duke Ustream channel.

He will discuss how the New Testament is used -- accurately or not -- in popular media, and take questions from viewers. Viewers can submit questions in advance or during the session by email to live@duke.edu, on the Duke University Live Ustream page on Facebook or via Twitter with the tag #dukelive.

Goodacre, an associate professor in New Testament, was a historical consultant on the BBC production of the 2008 film The Passion, which dramatizes the days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. He has commented frequently to news media on issues surrounding biblical archeology and historical scholarship on Jesus.

Goodacre’s NT Blog follows developments in New Testament scholarship and related popular topics. He recently begun the NT Pod podcast, which provides “condensed comment from an academic perspective for everyone interested in historical approaches to the New Testament.” And the NT Gateway website, which Goodacre edits, provides links to scholarly materials on the New Testament.
