Photo Contest Seeks Images Capturing Diversity, Inclusion
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
We all look at the world through our own unique set of “lenses” that filter our perceptions of people, places, events and experiences. We want to see diversity through your LENS and invite you to FOCUS in on what diversity and inclusion means to you. As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and a dramatic image can change our perception and alter our understanding of a subject.
The Office for Institutional Equity is seeking such images for a photo contest to identify images that reflect your view of diversity and inclusion. Is it a picture of someone you know well, or who you don’t know at all? Someone like you, or someone very different? Is it a place you’ve traveled, or the place you call home? Maybe it’s a photo that reflect life events, beliefs or traditions.
Photographs will be judged by renowned American Artist, Barkley L. Hendricks, and panel of Duke experts. The winning photographs will represent the first official exhibit in the new Trent Hall Art Gallery.
The top three award winners will receive tickets to Duke athletic events, including a men’s and women's basketball game, or Duke apparel. See details about how to enter below.
